Police have released two new images of a man suspected of shooting healthcare executive Brian Thompson in New York earlier this week.

UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot dead outside a Manhattan hotel on Wednesday morning, while he was on the way to the company’s annual conference.

The shooting sparked a citywide manhunt – but police have so far failed to locate the suspect, who is also still yet to be named.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) has now released two new photographs of the suspected gunman.

The first image, taken from inside a car, shows the man in a dark puffer jacket with the hood up and a medical mask covering the lower half of his face.

The second image appears to show him inside a New York taxi, still with the mask on as he looks through the partition inside the vehicle.

The FBI, Crime Stoppers and the NYPD are offering a combined reward of $60,000 (£47,000) for information that leads to the gunman’s arrest.

He then escaped on an e-bike towards Central Park. Police searching the area found a bag believed to belong to the suspect on Friday but it did not contain any firearms, sources told Sky News’ US partner network NBC News.

Police believe the suspect arrived in New York by bus on 24 November and stayed in a hostel in Manhattan while in the city.

Another CCTV clip that emerged on Friday showed the suspect coming out a subway station near where the shooting took place. It was said to have been filmed at 6.15am, around half an hour before Mr Thompson was killed.

The suspect was also pictured at a Starbucks before the shooting. Items he put in a rubbish bin there have been recovered and sent to be examined for DNA.
