Made In Chelsea star Ollie Locke has revealed he is planning on having a baby via a surrogate with his husband Gareth.

The couple married at London’s Natural History Museum last year, just days before England’s second coronavirus lockdown began.

Locke, 33, made the announcement on Instagram, along with a picture by Mexican pop artist Jose Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros, showing two male Disney heroes sharing a kiss and cradling a smiling baby boy.

Fellow reality stars including The Only Way Is Essex’s Lydia Bright, Geordie Shore’s Vicky Pattinson and presenter Gaby Roslin were quick to congratulate the couple.

In his post, Locke said they will be traveling to America for treatment “soon”, admitting the “legal formalities” have been “difficult”.

As fertility treatment is not considered essential travel, the couple will need to wait for coronavirus travel restrictions to be relaxed before they are able to leave the UK.

The post followed an interview with The Sunday Times, in which they explained that they will be using a British surrogate to carry their baby, and that they will not initially know which of the two of them is the father.

Locke said they had “waited a long time to share this news” adding that it was “a hugely important discussion telling our story of how a couple that love each other, and desperately wants a family are becoming parents”.

He said he will be sharing their surrogacy journey via social media and on TV, adding “we couldn’t be more excited to become parents”.
