Man charged with attempted murder of police officer who is in critical condition

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer who was seriously injured in a road traffic incident while on duty.
PC Christopher Miller, 38, is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries following the incident on the B416 in Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire, at about 10.20pm on Thursday.
Simranjit Kajla, 28, of Slough, has been charged with attempted murder, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, and using a motor vehicle without insurance, police said.
Kajla is due to appear at Reading Magistrates’ Court later on Tuesday.

A 38-year-old, also from Slough – who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving – has been released on police bail until 23 August.
A 43-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice, has been released under investigation.
Still in police custody at this time is a 37-year-old woman – who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.
