Kay Burley reveals Sky’s Election Night Live studio

What’s happening – and when?

Thursday

Polls are open from 7am until 10pm on 4 July – and during that time, you won’t see any coverage of politics or policy due to strict reporting restrictions.

But Sky News will still be bringing you colourful snapshots of polling day, from leaders casting their ballots to the important business of dogs at polling stations.

Chief presenter Kay Burley will anchor Election Night Live, the overnight results programme, from a 360-degree immersive studio normally used by Sky Sports shows like Monday Night Football.

As soon as the polls close at 10pm, Sky News will bring you the exit poll – your first insight into how the general election results could play out.

Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester and a former Labour MP, will provide guest analysis alongside the former leader of the Scottish Conservatives and star of Electoral Dysfunction, Baroness Ruth Davidson.

Burley, who will be covering her 12th UK general election, will also be joined by Sky News’ award-winning political editor Beth Rigby, the presenter of our Sunday politics show Sir Trevor Phillips, and our economics and data editor Ed Conway.

Conway will be examining the election data as it comes in, which will appear on our “dancefloor” constituency map of the UK.

He’ll also take you inside Sky’s virtual Downing Street complete with AI versions of Rishi Sunak, Sir Keir Starmer, and Larry the Downing Street cat.

Elections analyst Professor Michael Thrasher will also be on hand to offer statistical analysis of the election for Sky News – as he has at every election since 1989.
