Texas A&M added to its defense on Monday when UCF defensive end Josh Celiscar announced his commitment to the Aggies.

Celiscar entered his name in the transfer portal in December as a grad transfer and was a two-time captain for the Knights in his time with UCF. He had 54 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and three sacks in the 2023 season.

He followed that up with 47 tackles and three tackles for loss this past season and was a multiyear starter before moving on. He’s a 6-foot-4, 265-pound edge rusher who will bring some much-needed experience and production to the new coaching staff.

The Aggies have had 18 scholarship players enter the transfer portal since November, including defensive linemen LT Overton, Walter Nolen, Fadil Diggs and Isaiah Raikes.

The new staff has worked diligently, however, to replace a lot of that production up front, by adding in Purdue edge Nic Scourton, Wisconsin defensive lineman Rodas Johnson, Bowling Green edge Cashius Howell and now Celiscar as well.

As a grad transfer, he has one more season of eligibility to play his final year with Texas A&M.
