Do you know these 20 men? Police launch appeal to trace Armistice Day counter-protesters

The Metropolitan Police has released images of 20 counter-protesters they wish to track down following a range of offences in central London on Armistice Day.

The force is appealing to anyone who can identify the men suspected of racial hatred, racially aggravated public order offences, and assault on police officers.

Police said there were several incidents of violent disorder across the capital on 11 November, including in and around Whitehall.

A mass Pro-Palestinian march also took place on Armistice Day, which several politicians had said should be called off.

Hundreds of thousands of people turned up for the largely peaceful march calling for a ceasefire in Israel’s war against Palestinian militant group Hamas.

More than 100 pro-Palestinian protesters were detained after breaking away from the main march.

Earlier that day, dozens of far-right counter-protesters were arrested in Pimlico, central London, “to prevent a breach of the peace”.

Commander Kyle Gordon said police teams have been working “around the clock” to identify anyone involved in crimes that took place on Remembrance weekend.

Mr Gordon added: “They’ve trawled through hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and are continuing to review evidence to help with enquiries.”

On the day, officers made 145 arrests for offences for possession of weapons, criminal damage, public order, inciting racial hatred and possession of drugs.
