Reality star Vicky Pattison has told how she was left “shaken” after a car she was travelling “exploded” and burst into flames.

The 35-year-old shared footage of the “terrifying” fire on social media, saying she had been in an Uber just “minutes” earlier with her partner Ercan Ramadan.

Pattison had been travelling in an Uber to the Sheesh restaurant in Chigwell when the fire broke out on the A1 near Borehamwood in Hertfordshire.

“I actually don’t even know what to say about what’s just happened” she said in a video shared with her 5.4 million Instagram followers on Saturday. “Like, it was absolutely terrifying.”

Ramadan, who appeared in TOWIE, noticed the car’s engine management light was on, she said, shortly before the vehicle started making a “really horrible noise”.

The driver pulled over and smoke was subsequently seen to emerge from the back of the car.

It is unclear what happened to the driver, although there is no suggestion he was harmed during the incident.

“The man’s like, just stay in the car, it’ll be fine,” Pattison added. “Obviously we’re on the A1, so you didn’t want to get out.

“Then all of a sudden it just caught fire, it just burst into flames. You can see from my video that, like, the whole car’s exploded. Absolutely terrifying, and we’re just standing on the road.”

Police were contacted and urged them to move away after arriving at the scene, the star said.

“I’m a little bit shaken up,” she added.

However, the pair made it to the restaurant and Pattison shared photos from their evening, captioning one: “3 cars, two hours and one near death experience later… and we made it.”

Ramadan also shared a picture of the car, saying it was “lucky” that they “jumped out” when they did.

Pattison rose to fame in the reality show Geordie Shore in 2011, before starring in Ex On The Beach in 2014. In 2015, she was crowned the winner of the 15th series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and now hosts The Secret To… podcast.

Sky News has contacted Uber for its response to the incident.
