A 36-year-old woman has been arrested in the south of France after she tore off part of her partner’s genitals during an argument.

The woman was placed into police custody on Tuesday morning in Portet-sur-Garonne, south of Toulouse, two days after the alleged attack took place, according to French media.

Her 45-year-old partner was rushed to Rangueil Hospital on Sunday after “the skin of his penis had been partly torn off,” regional newspaper La Depeche reported.

The incident occurred after a drunken argument broke out between the two, in which they were being verbally and physically violent.

During the altercation, the woman allegedly grabbed the man’s genitals and “pulled very hard”. She then attacked his ear.

It remains unknown whether the woman used a weapon of some kind to carry out the assault, but the man lost a “large part of the skin of the penis and the foreskin” as a result, the paper reported.

When the emergency services arrived, the man was conscious but seemed in “terrible pain”.

The victim was reportedly examined by a medical examiner to “estimate the seriousness of his injury”, the paper cited the Toulouse prosecutor’s office as saying.
