Nicole Scherzinger has been hit with a lawsuit which claims she demanded “complete creative control” for the upcoming Pussycat Dolls tour.

Choreographer Robin Antin, who founded and runs the Pussycat Dolls, claims that Scherzinger is refusing to take part in the group’s reunion tour unless she gets a controlling share of the the business PCD Worldwide and “final decision-making authority” on the venture.

The group have reformed, and were due to head out on tour last year, but the pandemic put plans on hold.

Tour dates are now showing as “to be confirmed”, with no new shows currently planned.

Nicole Scherzinger, who is the front woman of the Pussycat Dolls, says the claims “ludicrous and false”.

Her lawyer added in a statement to People that Antin’s claims “are a desperate attempt to divert blame for her own failures by trying to impose obligations on Nicole that simply do not exist.”

“Robin will fail in her efforts to trade on Nicole’s hard-earned success to pull herself out of a deep financial hole she has created by her own poor business and professional decisions.”

They added: “Nicole loves and respects the PCD fans and hopes to one day be back on stage performing the group’s amazing hits for them… Sadly, this will not happen under these circumstances.”

Scherzinger already stands to make the most from the upcoming tour, taking a 32.5% of profits, while the other members would get 12.5%.

She had apparently demanded, according to Antin, that her share in PCD Worldwide go from 49% to 75% – with the business venture seemingly retaining the rights to the Pussycat Dolls brand in the future.

The reported stand-off between Antin and Scherzinger has prevented more tour dates from being booked in for the group, which could lead to financial implications in the future.
